Praying

I am humbled to be God’s servant – I am thankful that I can reach out to you. For awhile, God has led, and continues to lead me in an online, digital ministry. I have been doing this for such a long time and sometimes I wonder if it is effective. If anyone is really reading anything I write or using things that I make for others. But I see that God’s Word is NOT going void. This ministry is ready for just a time as now. God Knows!

Our church is reading through the Bible – a 5 day plan. I am sort of doing it, but in an adjusted way, so right now, I am a little behind. So today’s reading from Colossians 4 is from last week. But I KNOW that God wanted me to dwell on these chapters THIS week. God is so GOOD!!!

Colossians 4:2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. – in the next verse it talks about praying for others, specifically about sharing the Gospel – the Good News. Lately, I have been reminded that I need to be more diligent in praying for my family. I have 9 children, SIL, DIL, and grand children, my parents live with us…. So my daily list was getting longer and longer. So I decided to divide them up over the week, but I can also lift them up in specific areas as needed. I need to get my War Room set up on my iPad as that is where I have my quiet time (Day One Journal and Olive Tree Bible, YouVersion). I had a War Room Closet, but I needed to give it up awhile ago, because it was the only closet we had on our main floor. It was great to be reminded to pray every time I walked by.

So even though I set up a specific time to pray for my family, I do lift them up and others at different times of the day. It does not have to be a formal prayer. It can be a cry to God – “help this person right now God.” It is a continual mindset of talking to God throughout the day. Trusting in Him when things get crazy. Tamping down the fear, when it creeps up, trying to suffocate us – trying to make us useless. It is THANKING God in ALL circumstances – the good and the bad. It is in KNOWING that God SEES all that we are going through and that He cares.

Do you know that God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus to die on the cross for your sins – when you were in your worse state. He did not offer you His sacrifice when you were good enough. He did it when you are at your worse. You see, the penalty for our sin, disobeying God – not following Him and His Word, is death. We will be forever separated from God – it will be worse than anything we can imagine, anything we could experience on earth. It will be forever separated from God, who created us, who loved us so much that He would sacrifice His Only Son, so that we can become His own sons and daughters!

So how do we receive this gift from God? Just ask God, thank Him for sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins and you WILL be FORGIVEN. He will remove the penalty of your sins off of your shoulders and onto the shoulders of His Son Jesus. Jesus WILL take the penalty of your sins! The thing is – when Jesus died for our sins, He did not stay dead. He arose from the grave. He was victorious over sin, because HE IS GOD! Our sin did not keep Him in the grave! Praise God for His LOVE for us! He wants us so much to be a part of His family!!! Be sure to share the Good News that God loves you so much that He sent His Son to die in your place!!!

So how can you know more about God’s love for you? Go to the Bible – read His LOVE letter to you. He loves us so much that He gave us His Word – so that we can know Him. Start praying to Him, rely on Him to help you through your day. God is good! He wants you in His family – He wants to know you and for you to know Him!

I pray for you – as you read this blog, that you come to know the loving God. That you rest in His love! That you know that He is with you! That you see all the things He is doing in your life! That you draw closer to Him and rest in His strength. That you know, that He has your back!
