Memory Jar – Project 365

Do you like the idea of Project 365, but it is to hard to do?  Are you too busy with all the other LOs that you want to do? Well check out Lori Imel Designs’  Memory Jar – 365 Project.

I saw some “Memory Jars” online and thought of how I could make them with digi-scrap items.

Take an ordinary glass jar with lid and turn it into something special to help you remember the special events that happen this year!  I used a quart sized mason jar.

I added some embellishments.  In my kit, you will find 2 printable tags, a topper piece, word art, a customizable strip, and a long strip that you can put around the edge of your lid if you desire.  Add your name and the year.  I printed these items on cardstock.  Cut them out and assembled them with thick double stick tape.  I love the 3D affect!

Next, open up the 4×6 or 5×7 template file, depending on which you want your print size.  Add a photo to every section, the date, and some journaling (this will print up very tiny). Then finish off with a few small elements.  Save as a jpg file and print away.  They you will have 8 mini LOs approximately 2″x 1.5″, that you cut apart and place in your “Memory Jar”.  You could also choose to write on the backs of these mini-LOs.  At the end of the year, you can look thru these mini-LOs for a fun reminder of the great memories you made this year!

What I liked about this project…  it was very fast to do these mini-LOs.  I also like the small size, that I can print immediately on 4×6 photo paper.  I don’t have to wait until I have a full sheet (8.5×11) before I can print. I will be adding more mini-LO templates to my store through out the year!
