Why Do We Have Hard Days?

I am going to try to get back into regular blogging etc now that we are settling into some new routines in our new house…  I am working thru a series of questions that our pastor mentioned this past Sunday….

1.  Is God allowing the consequences of my sin?

1 Peter 213 Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution,[b] whether it be to the emperor[c] as supreme, 14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. … 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. 19 For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.

Sometimes we just mess up. If we don’t follow God’s Laws or Man’s Law, then we have to pay the consequence of our action.

Psalm 15

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?
    Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
    and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue
    and does no evil to his neighbor,
    nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
    but who honors those who fear the Lord;
who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
who does not put out his money at interest
    and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved.

How can we walk blamelessly??? Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Is there no hope for me???  Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.            1 Corinthians 15: 3-4 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures

How do I receive this gift from God???  John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

It is hard when we are going through tough times.  It is easier when we have someone helping us through it all: Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.[a]
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness[b]
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[c]
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely[d] goodness and mercy[e] shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell[f] in the house of the Lord
    forever.[g]

God is reaching down to you!  I pray that you will respond to Him?
