Knocked Down But Not Out

Yesterday our pastors message was on Acts 14:1-28… 3 cities, 2 men, 1 gospel….

These 2 disciples went to 3 cities and shared the gospel.  The good news was accepted by some but rejected by others.  In one city, Paul was even stoned and left for dead….  Even with all this persecution, he went back to these places to continue to share the gospel.

Acts 14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. 23 And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

They continued even in adversity….

A couple of really encouraging verses…

2 Corinthians 4:8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I pray that we can all continue and draw on God’s strength to see us through….
