Giving Thanks

Do you spend time daily in God’s Word? What do You do? Do you do the same thing year in, year out? Or do you change it up a bit from time to time? I do change mine up a bit, to keep it fresh.

For awhile, I have been doing Rachad Wojo’s Bible Reading plans. I like that it is a theme for the month & several verses. But I have used it differently at times. I have written the passage back to God – praising Him! Listing His attributes, how He has changed us, what He has given us. Thanking & praising Him. Now I am bolding these things. Thinking about them & just praying, praising back to God for all His gifts! I also do the same as I read through the Psalms. Here is from today’s passage, I just felt I should share it today.

Psalms 105:1-7 Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered, O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones! He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

I have sort of gotten out of the routine of writing a blog post. Some of it is because of the craziness of the past 6 months. I know at times I have gotten myself to be too busy. Recently God has reminded me that my ministry to my family -& being a Stay-at-home Mom IS my ministry still. As my children have gotten older, my youngest is now 12, I thought I have more time for other church ministries. Then I am sad when things don’t work out. But last week, I realized I can’t be a Stay-at-Home Mom, if I am not at home. We still have 6 Kids at home, plus my parents living with us. Several have health issues that I need to help with at times. As I get older, I can do less “burning the candle at both ends “, before I find myself “exhausted ” for most of a week. So I am learning to set boundaries. I praise God for showing this to me this past week. I praise Him that I still have a ministry He wants me to do with my family, my church, & my online community! God IS STILL working! I praise Him for ALL His wondrous works!!

Psalms 65Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions. Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple! By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas; the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs. You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy. You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.

Recently, on one of the days I was so exhausted, I remembered to use one of my earbuds to listen to some praise & Worship music. I was kind of surprised at how my energy levels improved a bit. With us starting our homeschool bach up in September, I am not able to listen to my music on my speakers . especially in the mornings as they are doing school. Recently I have been listening with one earbud, so I can be available if they have a question. But it is so good to be able to listen to God’s praises again! I cherish these times that I (we) Can praise 1 8mg / shout for joy in the awesome deeds that God has done!
