God’s Love Is Steadfast

Matthew 22:34-4034 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Psalm 42:8-11  By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me,  a prayer to the God of my life.  I say to God, my rock: “Why have you forgotten me?  Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”  10 As with a deadly wound in my bones, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me all the day long,   “Where is your God?”  11 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?  Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

I am going to do Saturday and Sunday verses together – since the weekends seem to busy.

The Matthew passage is similar to the Mark passage – but there are a few differences.  Does this one impact you any differently?

The Psalm passage is a great one!  What do you think about it?
