One of my favorite Psalms is
Psalm 1 – Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bring forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
As I was reading this, again I was struck with the wisdom in God’s Word. How He wants us to live a delightful life. If we are drawing our strength from His Word – resting in the truth of Who He is we will be delighting in the Lord!!!
Where do you go for advice? With whom do you spend a lot of time? Do they have God’s wisdom?
What do you do in your spare time? With whom do you spend it with? Are they fellow believers? We do need to be sharing the gospel with unbelievers, but first, be sure that you are strengthened in God’s Word!
How do you relax, at total ease? With whom are you at total ease? When you get together, what is your conversation like? Is it full of encouragement and uplifting? Or is gossip and nitpicking, tearing others down?
If we are thinking on God’s Word all the time, thinking about who He is, what He has done, how He wants for us to live… we will be delighting in the Lord! We shall be like the tree planted by the river, we will be nourished by God’s Word! We will be fruitful in all we do! We will have the strength that we need!!!
“Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.” Isaiah 58:8
I pray that you are drawing on God’s strength daily as you rest in His Word!!!
