Rejoice!

That may be a weird word for today – but in God’s Word, we are told to be thankful in ALL things! The only way to do this, is to focus on God. God is good – I am almost surprised (but I shouldn’t be – because He IS Faithful!), when every day when I read God’s Word – about how ALL that I read is pertinent for today! How God is with us during these trying times!!! God is here to encourage us!

Today I read Psalms 13 – How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. But I have trusted in your steadfast lovemy heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

We do have an invisible enemy lurking around us – so to speak. It can be scary, nerve-racking leaving us anxious. But it does not need to be that way – God is WITH us. We can lift up our worries to Him! We need to trust in Him, that He will listen to our prayers! But, we NEED to trust in His Steadfast Love – it is an unending love, biggest love than we can imagine! We can REJOICE in the Salvation that HE has provided. We can sing to the Lord – rejoicing because of what He has done for us and is continuing to do.

“What has God done for me?”, you may ask? He LOVES you so much, that He sent His only Son to die for you. We all have a problem, it is sin. It is not wanting to have anything to do with God. It is choosing to do our own thing no matter who it hurts (God, other, ourselves). It is simply not obeying, Then penalty for turning our backs on God, is death – we will be separated from God forever. It will be worse than anything you have experienced or can imagine. BUT God loved us so much, that He sent His Son, Jesus to take our punishment. He died in our place, He took our place. Soon we are going to celebrate Easter – that is Jesus Resurrection. Jesus did not stay dead, He rose from the grave – He is God, He is Risen from the dead. He had victory over sin and death!

We must turn back to God. Did you know that we were created to glorify God? All of Creation reflects God’s Love towards us. I am kind of antsy today, but it is because ALL of creation is declaring God’s Glory today! It is a beautiful day! We can rejoice in ALL that God has done for us! We can come to Him and give Him our anxiety, concerns and worries. He is there with open arms wanting us to come HOME to Him.
