Living 4 Him 2

Well today is the “official” deadline for funds being sent in for our Haiti trip. Of course we can continue to receive donations until we leave in mid June. But it is good to see how much we still need. Kim and I DO need a lot more funds so that we can go. We are taking donations (on PayPal)

plus I am working on a couple of fund raising things….

I am having a “Buy My Store” at my digital scrapbook store, Living4Him2, as well as getting some homeschool books etc ready for sale on ebay (imelfamily). Be sure to check out these great deals.

We are getting ready to do a car wash and a benefit concert here locally. We have been having a lot of fun doing these things….

We have gotten some info about some of things we maybe doing while in Haiti – we will be discussing them in our next Haiti Team meeting. I will share more as things become more concrete.

Missions Trip To Haiti

Our youth group is going on a missions trip to Haiti in June. We are less than 2 months away from this life changing journey. We are going HAFF Haitian American Friendship Foundation – a non-profit, interdenominational Christian ministry which partners among the Haitians of the Central Plateau of Haiti through academic, vocational and theological education to enrich lives spiritually, economically and socially, all to the glory of God.

We are so excited about this opportunity to go and serve in this ministry. But I need your help! Would you be willing to give a donation to help me to be able to go? We have been working hard – tip night at Pizza Ranch, bake sale, gleaning corn (this past fall), and we have several fund raisers in the next month – but I /we still have a ways to go in having enough money. Any funds that exceed our traveling expenses, will go directly to HAFF.

As we are preparing for this trip, it breaks my heart (and beyond my comprehension) the poverty that exists in Haiti. Did you know that Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere? (It is the 20th poorest country in the world). We recently heard that they may have electricity in rural parts of Haiti – for the 1st time. The children there face extreme hunger daily. We want to go there and help (and work hard) in any way that we can! In the next few weeks, I will be sharing things that we will be doing while we are there.

I pray that as you read this, that your heart would be stirred to make a donation. I hate even asking this, but if I don’t, I won’t be able to go. But with your help, every donation – big or small, gets me one step closer on being able to take this trip.

I never thought I would ever take a foreign missions trip. Being a homeschooling, mother of 9 children, with 7 still at home – I never thought it was possible. But this past fall, when our missionaries were sharing this ministry opportunity – God stirred in my heart a desire to “GO”. I don’t know why I am being “called”, but I do know that God will use me. I plan and want to work hard – harder than I have in my whole life. I want to share the life changing message of God’s love – but I want to be able to serve them in any way I can. Please pray with me, that our journey there will make an impact on the lives that we touch while we are there (I also know that it will change our lives as well – it is already making me aware of people in need around me).

Rejoice and Be Glad

May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!” Psalm 70:4

Are you seeking for God?

Rejoice = to be glad; take delight; to make joyful! Glad= feeling joy or pleasure; delighted; pleased. I thought I would look at the definitions of these two words.

Do we take delight in God? Are we joyful in all that He does for us? Are we pleased with ALL that He does for us?

Do you LOVE God’s salvation? It is great! God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for OUR sins… not His sins, but ours… That should really make us think… We don’t deserve God’s salvation…. We don’t deserve a 2nd chance…. But God so loved us, that HE did send His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for OUR sins!!! To get this 2nd chance, we just need to believe that Jesus died for our sins…. He loves you! He wants for you to have eternal life with HIM!!!

With that awesome news – we can truly say forevermore…. “GOD IS GREAT!”

Are you rejoicing in God’s great gift of salvation???
