Count It All Joy

It has been awhile since you have heard from me…  a lot has been happening….

Things were getting to stressful for me and it was making me sick, literally.  So I stepped back a bit and looked at my life.  One thing I discovered, I needed to clean up my food.  I am gluten free – so I eat pretty clean, but all of the GF processed foods were not helping.  I also was looking into leaky gut and realized that a lot of the symptoms sound like my oldest daughter (29) who has severe chronic migraines.  So I started thinking about how that could help her as well.  In the midst of all of that, I realized that several other of my kids at home had similar issues going on.  So we have been eliminating ALL process foods from our diet.  I am not replacing things as we use them up.  We may have to give some to a food pantry.  It has been a long process of re-learning to cook without any processed foods and incorporating fermented foods into our diet.

So I am counting it ALL JOY!

James 1:2-4Count it all joy, my brothers,b] when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I am so thankful that I got sick.  That God showed me how our eating, though fairly healthy, was contributing to how our bodies were reacting to processed foods.  I am thankful that I have seen a change in me.  I am thankful for my oldest daughter is having some “good” days!  I am thankful that God is faithful – that He is perfecting us – that He cares about what is happening in our lives.

Yesterday in church, God reminded me that it is time to get busy again.  We are studying Acts, even when Paul was in jail, he was fervent about sharing the Gospel.
