Chosen

At Church, we are spending about 1 month in just the first few verses in Ephesians. There has been a baptism service in between all this, my youngest was baptized – pretty excited about her following Jesus. Yesterday, we heard about the Ephesian church from Revelation. I am really loving this serious because Ephesians is SO FULL of great nuggets of truth.

Today we are going to look at verse 4 of Ephesians 1. even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

Can you wrap your brain around this truth? God chose us BEFORE He Created the world! God knows all that is going to happen. He knew Adam & Eve would sin. He knew Cain would kill his brother Abel. He knew that the world would not believe, when Noah built the Ark and God sent the world-wide flood. He knew that Israel, His chosen people would reject him (and return) so many times. He knew the most crucial time to send His only Son. He knew, even before all of this, that His Son, Jesus would need to die on the cross for our sins. He knew you while you were in your Mother’s womb. He knows you right now, in this very minute!

He knows our secret sins and not so secret sins. He knows everything about us. He even knows the number of the hairs on our head. The Bible tells us, that NOTHING can separate us from the LOVE of God. He loved us while we were STILL SINNERS. He chose us, even while we still reject Him. He chooses us – gives us the way to come back to Him. He covers our sin and punishment with the blood of HIS only SON – Jesus. Can you imagine a love such as this? He chose us – then made us sinless by the sacrifice of His Son. WOW this is love!!!

Do you know that we are all sinners? There is no one, apart from Jesus who has lived a sinless life. We all turn our backs on God, we don’t obey Him. Did you know that the punishment for sin is death? We will be separated from God forever. But God, rich in His love for us, sent His Son Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. He took OUR punishment. He took OUR sins on himself. The punishment for our sin is PAID in FULL!

But Jesus did not stay dead. On the 3rd day, He rose from the grave. Death could not hold Him. He arose and lives forevermore. He is making a place for us to live forever with Him. He is not will that anyone should have to pay for the price of their sin, so He is waiting for people to turn back to God, who created them. God loves you so much, He wants you to be a part of His family. He wants you to turn to Him, believe and accept that Christ died for YOUR sins. Thank Him today, turn to Him and away from your sin and follow Him.

I praise God for ALL that HE has done!!!
